Meanwhile, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 602, traveling along the same route at 39,000 feet, presented a potential collision risk. Qatar Airways and Ethiopian Airlines have not yet issued statements regarding the incident. The incident comes months after a similar incident involving American Airlines flight AAL28 and Tradewind Aviation flight GPD235, which narrowly avoided collision.
