Qata Investors Planning Real Estate Development in EthiopiaFebruary 10, 2017 - A Qatari investor has expressed interest to engage in real estate development in Ethiopia during the discussion held with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn, according to ENA. Sheik Dr. Khalid Thani Al-Thani, Chairman of the Ezdan Holding Group said “we are doing big projects here in Ethiopia. I hope by April (2017) we will be announcing the size and the project that will be built in downtown.”Disclosing the type of investment, the Chairperson said, “It is like a shopping center, five-star hotel and some accommodations.”The premier assured the investors that his government will provide the necessary support at any time. Ezdan Holding Group CEO, Ali Al-Obaidli said “we started to negotiate more than one year and now we are almost at the final stage regarding one of the big real estate projects in downtown.”Pointing out the basic reasons why they chose to invest in Ethiopia, Ali said, “First of all it is a stable country, second its prime location and also the population is above 90 million.”Ezdan Holding Group is one of the top five companies in the Arab world with an issued capital of 7.3 billion USD.
