more-inThe Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court has ordered a quick verification against the project director and the chief engineer of the Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP) and five others over alleged irregularities in the construction of a State highway stretch between Muvattupuzha and Koothattukulam. Besides the KSTP director and chief engineer, the petitioner also named the Road Safety Commissioner and three others as respondents in the case. The complainant alleged that the respondents had entered into a conspiracy to dilute the quality of the road work by retaining the old tar road in the middle, thereby reducing the cost of construction. This would also cause a loss to the government as the road would get damaged very soon. In support of his complaint, the petitioner produced the approved plan and copies of the cross section work before the court.
