REUTERS/Kirill Kudryavtsev/PoolMOSCOW, Dec 27 (MENA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has held a briefing session with permanent members of the National Security Council, in which they reviewed the situation in Libya and Syria.In follow-up to recent telephone conversations Putin had with his foreign colleagues, the participants discussed the developments in Syria with a focus on the increased terrorist activity in Idlib, the Kremlin reported Friday.The participants also touched upon the events in Libya and spoke in favor of supporting international settlement efforts in that country.The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
