Put national team players on contracts, urges Kiganya

By PHILIP ONYANGO More by this AuthorFormer Kenya international Peter Kiganya wants the government to put national team players on performance contracts and retainers which will allow them more time and resources to practice and achieve better results. “There should be clear distinction between the national team which should be an elite team and clubs. “I played for the national team for several years and there is nothing as satisfying as playing when you are aware that someone is appreciating you somewhere,” Kiganya said adding that every player will aspire to play for the national team if the national team players welfare if well taken care of.
