MIRI: Pupils of SJK Chung Hua Pujut in Miri got together last week to carry out a series of beach cleaning activities at the Marina Bay beachfront that has been badly affected by rubbish dumping. During the school holidays, the primary pupils and their teachers and parents took to the beach to collect rubbish made up of plastic waste, driftwood, bottles and aluminium cans. Chai said the school organised the beach cleaning activity to contribute towards the hygiene of Miri. “The project to clean the beach will also help in the fight against Aedes mosquitoes in Miri. About 100 pupils took part in the beach cleaning activities that were held over several days last week.
