Pupil’s painting of peace and world icons goes down well with judges

PEACE can be fostered through unity among nations and their leaders, believes Year Six pupil Koay Zhe Yi. The 12-year-old SJK(C) Chong Cheng pupil managed to express his idea through a watercolour painting he submitted for a poster drawing contest by Lions Club Penang. Zhe Yi, who emerged first runner-up in the contest, won RM150 and a trophy. “The leaders of different nations inspired me and I believe they are worth to be remembered in my painting. Contest winner Setor Ying Er, 11, from SJK(C) Shang Wu, was not present and her school teacher Kow Phei Chia accepted the prize on her behalf.
