Punjab governor VP Singh Badnore flagged off a para-cycling expedition from Wagha Border, Attari in Amritsar district on Thursday. Around 34 cyclists participated in expedition which will cover about 500km in nine days before reaching Border Security Force (BSF) camp in New Delhi on December 1. They will be received by Union home minister Raj Nath Singh there. Speaking on the occasion, Badnore appreciated the BSF for providing an opportunity to ‘Divyang Youdhas’ (physically challenged) to live a dignified life. The governor also asked the BSF officers present there to identify eligible girls from the same region for the next training schedule so that these girls can also benefit from the specialised training in different fields.
