Share:LAHORE - The Punjab Assembly on Wednesday passed three bills while the Local Government Ordinance 2021 was referred to the concerned standing committee of the House for consideration and report within two months. The House passed three government bills including the Thal University Bhakkar Bill, 2021, South Punjab Institute of Science and Technology Dera Ghazi Khan Bill, 2020, and the Punjab Prevention of Speculation in Essential Commodities Bill, 2021. Also, Punjab Minister for law Raja Basharat laid the Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2021 and introduced the Punjab Irrigation, Drainage and Rivers Bill, 2021. Addressing the Assembly members on the occasion, Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi condemned the incident saying that the entire nation was in a state of shock. The speaker also directed Law Minister Raja Basharat to allocate one day for general discussion on the Sialkot incident during the current Assembly session.
