Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire yesterday called for stiffer penalties for those who violate construction rules. Bosire said violations have caused many deaths in buidling collapses due to lack of quality workmanship and materials. He said as much as the owner and the site engineer are facing charges, all those who inspect buildings under construction must be prosecuted. “There is need for stiffer penalties to curb loss of lives,” Bosire said. The MP urged professionals to preserve their integrity by ensuring buildings are constructed to standard.
