Forget delivering a jabbed ballot for Washington, the mayor who changed temporarily both the face and tenor of Chicago politics. Black voters have exhausted from giving their votes to both black and white Democratic politicians during elections then being abandoned. Washington, Chicago’s first Black mayor, displayed the power of government when citizens vote and when political agendas embrace inclusion. Supporters registered more than 50,000 new Black voters.
