Pulwama attack mastermind reportedly killed by security forces

NEW DELHI: Just four days after a suicide attack killed 40 soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, security forces today gunned down top Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) commander Kamran, who is believed to have masterminded the attack. In the meanwhile, four Indian Army soldiers, including a Major-rank officer, were killed in an overnight encounter with the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists in the same district on Monday. The soldiers killed belong to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the army. While firing is still on in the area, three terrorists of the JeM are still believed to be holed up in the vicinity. The four army soldiers and officers who were killed in the encounter have been identified as Major VS Dhoundiyal, Havaldar Sheo Ram, Sepoy Ajay Kumar and Sepoy Hari Singh.
