The House justice team yesterday said the withdrawal of Cord legislators from the committee pushing for electoral reforms will not affect its operations. Last week, Cord recalled all its MPs in an attempt to disrupt the parliamentary process bidding to unlock the IEBC stalemate and allow for outside-Parliament negotiations. “House Standing Orders provides that a committee should not have less than 18 members or more than 29 members. Jubilee has 18 members, therefore there is quorum,” said Chepkonga. Those recalled from the committee include Peter Kaluma (Homa Bay), Augustine Neto (Ndhiwa), TJ Kajwang (Ruaraka) and Ben Momanyi (Borabu).
