Pubs could reopen on streets and fields with socially distant beer gardens under new proposals

British pubs have been urged to create socially distant seating areas in country fields and on high streets so they can reopen as soon as possible. Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed in a public address to the nation on Sunday night that some hospitality businesses could reopen on July 1, if they can create a socially distant environment in their establishment. Mr Janson has also urged the government to allow pubs and cafes to create opening seating areas in streets, without having to go through planning permission applications. 'The urgency of the situation should let shops look at having outdoor seating areas - which is a permitted development - meaning you can just do it. 'Or you could change planning rules to shut down streets in the evenings.'
