The Department of Public Health, HSE West and North West, is encouraging the public to be aware of an increase of COVID-19 infections in the community. Ongoing awareness of symptoms of COVID-19 and taking steps to prevent the spread in both the community and in healthcare settings remain important to protect those most vulnerable. This new variant in the community has resulted in an increase in outbreaks in nursing homes, hospitals and other healthcare settings putting vulnerable patients at risk of infection. If you choose to do one, there is different advice to follow if you have a positive COVID-19 test.
