Mahfuj added, “We believe that those appointed will align with the people's aspirations. On Sunday, alongside Mahfuj, Businessman Sheikh Bashir Uddin and filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki were appointed as new advisors. Bashir is the half-brother of former Awami League MP Sheikh Afil Uddin from the Jashore-1 constituency. Farooki argued that he had been against the Awami League since 2012 and had even held secret discussions about it at the American Club.
