The mayor of Tambon Tamiang Administration and the director of the Ban Nong Khanya community hospital visited Nittaya Doohaidee, 29, in Moo 9 village in Tambon Tamiang in Surin's Phanom Dong Rak district on Tuesday morning. Mayor Thawatchai Ratanasongkram said officials from his administration have been taking care of the family since they found out about the mother's plight shortly after the birth of her youngest son three months ago. Thawatchai said the tambon administration would improve the family's house because it would be dangerous for the ailing mother to carry her bed-ridden 10-year-old son up and down stairs to his bedroom. Sawong said the baby could not be breast-fed because the mother has diabetes so the donations of baby food would be welcomed. Nittaya said her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident a day before their youngest son was born.
