Today, public sector workers across Germany will go on strike. Protests are planned to be held in all of Germany's federal states, except Hesse. The unions organizing the protest are demanding a 7% wage increase for workers. The strike has been declared among employees of university clinics, higher education institutions and road construction departments. In some federal territories, kindergartens and schools will also go on strike, and classes are expected to be canceled.
