Photo: Peter McIntoshShowing how much fun drag can be was one of the main aims of Tucked and Loaded — a colourful show in which the audience was invited to take part — and organisers were delighted by the interest the Dunedin public showed. The event, organised by Sacrilege Productions and Dunedin Pride, featured eight acts followed by a lightning drag round in which members of the public got to don costumes and strut their stuff on stage. Sacrilege Productions co-director and MC for the evening Jasper Ririnui, alias Jake Hammer, was "really stoked" and "really pleased" so many people were interested. They said the show was aimed to show drag could be "fun and cool and educational" rather than "a terrifying, hypersexual thing". Joining the line-up were "drag prince" Sam In Colour (Sam White), who was planning to lip sync to a Britney Spears track, recreating her VMA performance, and the glamorous Amara Morningstar (Fabian Clarke), who looked forward to the night but admitted to some last-minute nerves.
