Of the total, Bt5.64 trillion was domestic debt (94.21 per cent of total public debt) and Bt346.43 billion was external debt (5.79 per cent of total public debt). Theeraj Athanavanich, the office’s deputy director-general, said the total debt outstanding included Bt4.47 trillion of government debt, of which Bt994.794 billion was debt of non-financial state-owned enterprises, Bt500.05 billion was government-guaranteed financial SOEs’ debt, and Bt22.31 billion was debt held by other government agencies. Compared with August, public debt increased by Bt39.05 billion, of which government debt outstanding was Bt4.47 trillion, increasing by Bt48.73 billion during September.
