According to the National President of Medico Sanitary Balla Balla, the decision to begin the strike action was taken because of the following grievances:- Contract workers do not benefit from health allowances although they do the same job. - No medical coverage for health personnel. According to the trade Unionists, the long list of demands have not been heeded to for the past 20 years. During the meeting, the Minister of Public Health argued that the problems will be addressed but the members of the Trade Union remained skeptical and maintained the decision to go on strike.
