We are deep into the season of whisks and mellow fruit-filled tarts, but you won’t find Prue Leith watching a lot of The Great British Bake Off. “I mostly don’t watch. I’m too vain,” says Leith, who is as frank about herself as she is when she condemns a contestant’s Battenberg cake. “I just think, ‘Oh my God, why do they always have me eating?’ Which is a very ugly thing to be doing. But you don’t see Paul putting much food in his mouth.”Is that right?
