Top OHIP billings spark troubling questions, July 5Thanks to the Star’s ongoing investigation of OHIP billings, we are now becoming aware of the unconscionable billing practices by some Ontario specialists. OHIP billings are based on trust. The huge $6.7 billion-a-year Ontario Ministry of Health fee-for-service expenditure necessitates serious oversight and careful review of the physician outliers’ practices. The Star investigation has exposed the tip of the large and looming iceberg. Now, it is up to us, the citizens of Ontario, to demand necessary and speedy action from our provincial government.
