The accident that happened around 7am on Tuesday disrupted traffic on both sides of the roads from Natun Bazar, Badda to Kuril areas, according to Dhaka Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Traffic) Md Abdullah Al Mamun. An Uttara-bound bus operated by Shuprovat Paribahan ran over Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury, 20, when he was crossing the road in Nodda near Jamuna Future Park, he said. The victim died on the spot, he said. Following the accident, students came by bus on the spot, took to the streets, blocked the road and vandalised some vehicles, the police official said. Additional police forces have been deployed to the area bring the situation under control.
