A 19-year-old woman has died after being gang-raped by at least 11 men and flung from the sixth-floor of a building. The vile killing happened in Mogadishu, Somalia, on Friday last week, and 11 arrests have been made. Student Hamdi had been set to enrol in college and her death has sparked huge protests around the country. Horrified demonstrators say not enough is being done to tackle violence against women in Somalia. We will encourage Somali women to shed the negative attitude of seeing rape as an unmentionable occurrence."
