The latest disruption took place in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory near Belleville, Ont., not far from a major Ontario Provincial Police operation Monday that dismantled a blockade that had thwarted all train traffic in the area for more than two weeks. Video shared online also shows a group of protesters standing on the tracks as a CN Rail train approaches, then jumping out of the way at the last moment. Firefighters were called to the site Monday night after a section of the tracks was set ablaze. Only about three people were milling around a tent near the tracks, while police kept watch from the comfort of their cruisers. Police said in a tweet Wednesday morning that officers provided protesters with an injunction and began moving them from rail tracks.
