Protesters voiced their disapproval of a proposed niobium mine in Kanesatake Thursday night outside an information session on the project. Simon said it will be up to the people of Kanesatake to decide if the project goes forward or not. The demonstrators, who numbered around a dozen, came from both Kanesatake and the nearby town of Oka.
