Sunday Aborisade, AbujaA group of youths on Tuesday, besieged the National Assembly to protest the continued absence of their Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, from the nation’s parliament. Armed with a petition addressed to Lawan, the leader of the group, Chukwudi Chukwu, told journalists that the protesters are indigenes of the five local government areas, comprising the Abia North Senatorial District. “Abia North constituents have no representation in the nation’s highest deliberative body and cannot participate in matters that affect them. “Denying citizens the right to be represented inspires disaffection and provokes contempt for both the legislative body and the democratic process. “Your Excellency, declaring a vacancy in Abia North Senatorial District will repair themonumental injustice done to us and encourage hope in our senatorial district.
