Having read the news of your “protest” during the graduation ceremony, I felt compelled to write this. You claim that the “protest” was your only avenue to vent some pent up rage at the speech by the UM vice-chancellor. The fact that your protest tried to deconstruct and reduce a complex discussion through scribbling on a piece of paper does not help your cause. I would hate to think how you would react if someone were to desecrate a ceremony you hold dear in order to “protest” against you. But now it seems that your protest is nothing more than a publicity stunt.
