In a press briefing held on November 14, the foreign minister said, only 53 female workers died out of 220,000 female workers currently working in Saudia Arabia. Majority of the female workers now abroad are somehow managing well with a small percentage of them facing problems. Naripokkho has asked the government to come up with a proper policy to ensure the safety of female workers and make sure they can communicate with the embassy without any hassle. Naripokkho is a membership-based women's activist organization in Bangladesh working since 1983 for the advancement of women's rights and entitlements and building resistance against violence, discrimination and injustice.
