Prosecutors Charge Baltimore’s Top Cop in Tax Case


Baltimore Police Commissioner Darryl De Sousa admitted he hadn’t filed federal tax returns in three recent years Thursday hours after federal prosecutors announced they had charged him criminally in the matter. Mr. De Sousa “willfully failed to file a federal return for tax years 2013, 2014, and 2015,” despite working as a salaried Baltimore Police Department employee each of those years, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland said in a statement.
