The verdict in the case filed over the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan could be delivered at the end of January, a state prosecutor has said. “We expect the court to give its judgement towards the end of this month,” said Prosecutor Faridul Alam. Earlier in the morning, police escorted the 15 accused in the case to the court premises under tight security. Major (retd) Sinha was shot dead by police at Shamlapur checkpost in Baharchhara of Teknaf on the night of July 31, 2020. On December 13, 2020, RAB pressed charges against 15 people, including police source Ayaz and three APBn members, in connection with the murder.
