Promising Southland touch players make New Zealand teamSupplied Southland's Under 18 NZ Touch trialists from left, Kaleb Talamahina, Amy Du Plessis, Brad Kooman, Molly Wheeley and Ben Pope. Promising Southland touch quartet of Molly Wheeley, Brad Kooman, Kaleb Talamahina and Dominic Ririnui-Sipa have been selected to represent the New Zealand under-18 team following recent trials. All four were in the Southland under-17 mixed team which won the national championships in February. Wheeley was selected for the NZ U18 womens' team, while Kooman, Talamahina and Ririnui-Sipa made the NZ U18 mixed team.
