The first phase of the work will start in Shantinagar and adjacent areas, DSCC CEO Khan Mohammad Belal told bdnews24.com on Wednesday. “A Tk 1 billion project has been passed to resolve the water-logging problem in Shantinagar and nearby areas. Areas including Shantinagar, Fakirapool, Jurain and those in Old Dhaka under the DSCC go under water after a little rain. He said the water-logging problem in Shantinagar is severe, which is why the project will start there. Dhaka North and South City Corporation announced to clear the streets of blood and wastes within 48 hours from 2pm on the Eid day.
