Profits at Google's parent Alphabet rises, buoyed by ad business

Mountain View, USA, July 28 (efe_epa).- Alphabet, Google's parent company, today posted that profits in the first half of this year reached $9.08 billion, 22 percent more than in the same period last year, fueled by the good performance of its advertising business. Alphabet revenues are driven mostly by Google's advertising business. The revenue, meanwhile, totaled $41.76 billion in the first six months of the year compared to $34.99 billion in the same period of 2015. The company said half of the searches on its web browser, Chrome, now come from mobile devices.
