Cheese has also undergone a process but it contains calcium, B vitamins, and protein.”The dietitian also points out that “ultra-processed foods” alone might not be the problem. The study, published in the British Medical Journal, found that a 10% increase in ultra-processed food intake was associated with a 12% increased risk of overall cancer. Dr Robert O’Connor, head of research at the Irish Cancer Society, says we need to interpret the study cautiously.
