Barisal District Administration has formed a five-member committee to investigate Friday’s collision between an oil tanker and cargo ship in Kirtonkhola river. “The upper portion of the ship was damaged due to the collision and oil was transferred in another chamber and drums without delay. The collision between the Barisal-bound oil tanker from Chittagong MT Fazal and Narayanganj-bound clinker-laden cargo from India MV Maa Babar Doa took place near Char Kawa on Friday morning. The collision had caused a rupture in the tanker through which around 200 litres of oil spilled in the river.
