Pro-Prime Minister Abiy Rally Disrupted by Opponents in Awaday TownBy Staff ReporterFebruary 21, 2020 (Ezega.com) -- Undisclosed numbers of people were injured amid clashes between supporters of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and opposition forces in Awaday town in west Harargae of Oromia region in eastern Ethiopia. Eyewitnesses told Ezega.com that the clashes began when members of anti-government forces disrupted the Pro-Prime Minister rally which was arranged by the town administration. According to the eyewitnesses, members of the town’s administration were mobilizing the residents door to door to participate in the Pro-Prime Minister rally. OLF Political Mobilization Head Gedda Gadissa said the OLF members were arrested in Jeldu, Dano, Duki, Adama and Ejere towns due to their political outlook. It is not clear if the chain of pro-Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed rallies were held up based on the will of the demonstrators or orchestrated by the government.
