Private sector to support funding scheme that helps graduates get jobs - Nation


KOTA KINABALU: A nationwide initiative to match unemployed graduates with potential employers will continue next year with the private sector contributing to its funding. Skim Latihan 1Malaysia (SL1M) is expected to benefit some 25,000 unemployed graduates next year, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan. SL1M, which was launched in 2011, is a programme meant to help unemployed graduates, especially those from low income families or rural areas. “This initiative is close to the heart of the Prime Minister. It attracted hundreds of unemployed graduates with 32 companies participating.
