Airways spokeswoman Emily Davies said the pilot contacted Air Traffic Control at 9.23am on Friday and declared a full state of emergency. The plane landed at 9.40am and was towed off the runway, which re-opened at 9.50am, Davies said. An Auckland Airport spokeswoman confirmed the plane, which had come from Tauranga, had landed safely.
