Arman Hossain alias Suman, who was arrested from Moghbazar in Dhaka on Wednesday on charge of raping his stepdaughter, confessed to the crime on Tuesday. Asked if a man can marry his stepdaughter according to the Muslim marriage law, Arman remained silent. However, the victim said Arman did not marry her. According to the case filed under the ICT act, Arman had started to sexually abuse his stepdaughter when she was just twelve. Meanwhile, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain Tipu granted a two-day remand to the accused after police produced him before the court with a five-day remand plea.
