A total of 197 Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) personnel in Nasarawa Command have been promoted to the next ranks. He said the figure was made up of 89 senior officers and 108 ranks and file across prisons formations in the command. Okoro charged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by doing what is expected of them in their various formations and units. He said that promotion was done based on merit, adding that the personnel met all the requirements needed in the service for the exercise. Speaking on behalf of the promoted personnel, Joseph Namo, an Assistant Controller of Prisons, thanked the service for finding them worthy of the honour done to them.
