more-inThe Delhi High Court has directed the Principal Health Secretary to appear before it after the government failed to indicate the time frame for filing an audit report of all its hospitals. The court had ordered a third party audit of all Delhi government hospitals, including the Janakpuri Super Speciality and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospitals. Chawla noted that the court’s September 22, 2017, order had highlighted glaring inadequacies in healthcare infrastructure with regard to eight public hospitals maintained by the Delhi government, which include these hospitals. The court noted that the audit report had not been submitted and other actions not complied with till date, although there was some progress. The petition had alleged that despite these claims, not a single patient had been admitted in the hospitals and urged the court to issue directions.
