“I have been following with interest how men and women from around the world, including my own family, have been helping and recognising the vital role of the volunteer. They have been making regular calls to people self-isolating in the community, as part of the 250,000 tasks completed by NHS Volunteer Responders so far. The Duke of Cambridge has joined more than 2,000 volunteers who have trained to help people using the UK’s first round-the-clock text messaging service, Shout 85258. Kate has also been helping others and has taken part in "check in and chat" calls with those self-isolating or vulnerable as part of the Royal Voluntary Service's NHS Volunteer Responders scheme. Sophie, 55, has also joined volunteers at other organisations and community initiatives including the Hope Hub in Camberley, Frimley Park Hospital, the Lighthouse Woking Foodbank and Nourish our Nurses.
