The sea breeze stirred a sudden sprightliness in the prime minister, after the event drew to a close around12:30pm. During the event, Hasina reminisced about her childhood visits to the beach with her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Hasina said efforts would be made to turn Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh’s main resort town, into a lucrative tourist destination. The prime minister inaugurated Cox’s Bazar’s new airport tarmac on Saturday after she arrived there on a Boeing jumbo jet.
