PUTRAJAYA: RON97 petrol will cost nine sen less from midnight tonight. The Finance Ministry said the pump price for RON97 would be lowered from RM2.68 per litre to RM2.59 per litre for the period of Oct 26 to Nov 1. It said the price of RON95 remained unchanged at RM2.08 per litre and the price of diesel would be maintained at RM2.18 per litre. “The actual price of RON95 is RM2.29 per litre, while diesel is also at RM2.29 per litre, based on calculations under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM),” it said in a statement today. It said the subsidy, during Oct 26 to Nov 1 period, would cost the government an estimated RM87.28 million — RM72.15 million for RON95 and RM15.13 million for diesel.
