“The NMRA has been instructed to prepare the necessary gazette notification to announce the maximum retail price (MRP) per KN95 face mask in the coming week. During a recent meeting, local face mask manufacturers agreed to issue their products at the prices of Rs. Prof. Jayasumana on Wednesday (18) discussed the challenges and issues local medical supplies and gear manufacturers face in improving the production output for locally manufactured goods. “It is said that the daily requirement of face masks in Sri Lanka is about 1,500,000 and about 50% of this is supplied through imports. There are about 45 face mask manufacturers in Sri Lanka and we observed that they are selling their products at varying prices.
