The customer collapsed and died on December 27 last year after consuming the £3.75 sandwich contaminated with milk protein that was bought from a store in Bath, Somerset. Tests revealed the dairy-free yoghurt used in the ‘super-veg rainbow flat bread’ from one of Pret’s suppliers was contaminated. "Subsequent testing by Pret and two independent authorities found that the CoYo dairy-free yoghurt contained traces of dairy protein. "Pret informed the FSA which led to a national product recall from all supermarkets and businesses supplied by CoYo. It is believed the milk protein, which had contaminated the product, triggered a fatal allergic reaction.
