President attributes falling approval rate to lack of patience


President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) said Thursday that even though all official statistics indicate Taiwan's economic performance is improving, her approval rate is falling. President Tsai said that this is because the public are impatient. People want the government to move quickly and work harder, which is exactly what the government is trying to do, she added. The president made the remarks at European Day Dinner held by the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan. Tsai will celebrate her first anniversary in office on May 20
