We see a number of western states resorting to pressure, intimidation and blackmail against governments of sovereign African countries. Vladimir Putin: Indeed, the Soviet-era model – with its pros and cons – proved quite effective at the stage of the development of statehood in African countries. Question: Earlier, military technical cooperation was among the areas of interaction between Moscow and African countries. Vladimir Putin: Indeed, the traditions of our military technical cooperation are deeply rooted. For our part, we will further contribute to training military personnel of African states and take part in training African peacekeepers.
